Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy has announced its annual awards for the 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Honorary awards for 2011-12 have been conferred on Hindustani musician Lalit J. Rao and Gamaka artiste M.L. Keshavamurthy, while Carnatic musician B.V. Narayan Aithal and Sugama Sangeeta artiste Kamala Rajiv Purandare have been chosen for this year.

Award winners in the remaining categories for 2011-12 are: G.S. Kamala and G.S. Rajalakshmi (Vocal), S. Shantalakshmi Nagendranath (Vocal), Suma Sudheendra (Veena), C. Cheluvaraj (Mridangam), H.R. Badiger (Vocal), Jayashree Ramesh Patnekar (Vocal), Kasimsaab L. Jamadar (Tabla).

Minal Prabhu (Bharatanatyam), Sujatha Rajgopal (Bharatanatyam), Nayana S. More (Kathak), Kanakraj (Make-up).

Sulabhadatta Neeralagi (Sugama Sangeeta), S.L. Venugopal (Sugama Sangeeta), G.R. Keshavamurthy (Katha Keerthana), K.B. Haimavatamma (Gamaka) and Kinkini (Organisation).

Award winners for 2012-13 are: T.S. Satyavathi (Vocal), K.U. Raghavendra Rao (Flute), H.K. Narasimhamurthy (Violin), Shyam Alur (Vocal), Virupakshaswamy Gorata (Vocal), Shivanna Desai Kallur (Tabla), Rachaiah Hiremath (Tabla).

K. Chandrashekhar Navada (Bharatanatyam), Ramakrishna Bhat (Bharatanatyam), Rashmi Hegde Gopi (Kuchipudi and Mohini Attam), Nataraj Murthy (Violin).

Kikkeri Krishnamurthy (Sugama Sangeeta), M. Totappa Uttangi (Sugama Sangeeta), Siddheshwara Shastri Tellur (Katha Keertana), Tumkur Sunanda (Gamaka) and Uma Nagabhushan (Artiste from outside Karnataka).

The awards will be given away at Ravindra Kalakshetra here at 6 p.m. on November 24.
