Rs. 9.4 lakh stolen from two-wheeler

Unidentified person took away Rs. 9.4 lakh in cash by cutting the seat of a two-wheeler belonging to a coffee planter at Chikkamagaluru on Thursday. H.P. Lakshmana Gowda, resident of Adarsha Nagar in Chikkamagaluru, said he had kept the money, he had collected after selling coffee, in the storage facility provided under the seat cover of his two-wheeler, which was parked near the Malnad Coffee Curing Centre on Market Road on Thursday afternoon for about 20 minutes. When he returned, he found the seat having been cut and the cash bag missing. He has filed a complaint with the Chikkamagaluru Town police.
