Member of the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission Chandrashekhar G. Hungund on Tuesday directed the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) to upgrade its infrastructure.

Mr. Hungund, who was here to take stock of the infrastructure in the HIMS, took petitions from the public. He was informed that the hospital lacked a ventilator facility. Mr. Hungund accordingly directed officials concerned to take necessary steps to install the facility. With the hospital staff aware of Mr. Hungund’s visit well in advance, premises and wards were kept spic and span while all workers reported for duty. HIMS Director Rache Gowda and the Medical Superintendent K. Shankar were present during the visit.
