Officials of Food and Civil Supplies and Police departments on Thursday morning seized around 80 quintals of rice meant for distribution through the public distribution system (PDS) from the Godown attached to a rice mill.

The officials, after receiving a tip off, raided the godown of ‘Ganesh Rice Mill’ in Karasawadi and seized the rice bags, Mandya Rural police said.

The accused persons concerned had fraudulently procured rice from Mahila Supplementary Nutrition Production and Training Centres (MSNPC) at Hale Budhanur and other places, police added.

Further investigations are on.
