To enable seamless integration of the functioning of universities, especially the processes of examination and evaluation, vice-chancellors of 13 health universities from all over the country will come together on a common platform here on April 28.

They will participate in the two-day ‘Third conclave of vice-chancellors of health universities in India’ that is being organised by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) in the city.

RGUHS Vice-Chancellor K.S. Sriprakash told presspersons on Friday that the conclave was aimed at discussing academic and administrative issues related to the functioning and excellence of health universities.

He said the conclave would cover discussions on the orientation of medical education so as to inculcate values in doctors through short-term courses, transparency in the examination system, the need to sensitise all stakeholders on the importance of accreditation of hospitals and laboratories, and research in healthcare.

The conclave also includes a session on inclusive innovations that will discuss the roadmap to create centres of excellence within the university system, Dr. Sriprakash said.

To be inaugurated by Governor H.R. Bhardwaj, the conclave will have eminent speakers, including V.M. Katoch, Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Health Research, K.K. Kalra, CEO of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals, and Quality Council of India, and T. Rajeshwari, consultant, Quality Assurance and Accreditation in RGUHS.

The participating vice-chancellors would also share their experiences on best practices adopted in their universities, Dr. Sriprakash said.
