Revanna wants Chief Secretary replaced

Calling Chief Secretary Ratna Prabha an ‘agent’ of the Congress, Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna has urged the Election Commission to replace her with any of the Additional Chief Secretaries immediately.

He said at a press conference here on Wednesday that the Election Commission should make her ‘dummy’ by this evening. “Let an ACS be in her place”, he said.

Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda had met the Commissioners of the Election Commission of India personally and submitted complaint against officers. “The officers have been replaced by those recommended by the CS. The ECI has to select from among those suggested by the Chief Secretary. As a result the ex-Prime Minister’s complaint has remained ineffective,” he said.

Call for probe

Mr. Revanna also alleged that nine officers of the Transport Department were raising funds to support the Congress candidate B.P. Manje Gowda in Holenarsipur. The Election Commission should take action against those officers.

“Officers of the Transport Department are collecting over Rs.100 crore every month. Let there be an inquiry by the CBI. It will bring out the truth,” he added.
