Revanna relies on ‘auspicious time’

May 30, 2013 10:40 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:20 pm IST - BANGALORE:

Except H.D. Revanna, former Janata Dal (Secular) floor leader in the Legislative Assembly, and Y.S.V. Datta, party’s official spokesperson, none of the prominent party legislators took oath on Wednesday.

Mr. Revanna, a staunch believer in astrology, rushed to the House and appealed to pro-tem Speaker Malikayya Guttedar to allow him to take oath at an “auspicious time”. Mr. Revanna heaved a sigh of relief after taking oath.

Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly H.D. Kumaraswamy could not take oath, as he left for Chennai to attend the marriage of Bellary Janata Dal(S) leader and mining baron N.R. Suryanarayana Reddy. His party leaders N. Chaluvarayaswamy and Zameer Ahmed Khan also did not take oath.

According to party sources, they will take oath on Thursday.
