Revanna hits out at Rahul Gandhi

Janata Dal (Secular) leader H.D. Revanna has hit out at AICC President Rahul Gandhi for his comment that JD(S) was the ‘B’ team of the BJP.

At a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Revanna said “We need not learn secularism from him. Being the national president of a party he should maintain some standard in his words. Let him stop reading out speeches written by others.”

“Rahul Gandhi has no moral right to talk about our party when his party lured seven MLAs of the JD(S) during the Rajya Sabha elections. If Deve Gowda was interested in ‘adjustment politics’ he would not have to resign as Prime Minister within 11 months. If he had ‘adjusted’ with Congress leader Sitaram Kesri, he would have continued in the post,” Mr. Revanna said.

If the JD(S) had not helped the Congress by not fielding candidates in the by-elections in Nanjangud and Gundlupet, the Congress government would have collapsed, he added.
