Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer N. Jayaram ordered re-poll in Khangaon Gram Panchayat’s Ward No.10 in Khangaon village of Gokak taluk following complaints by a candidate of misprint of his symbol.

One of the candidates in Khanagaon was allotted ‘Telephone’ symbol but the ballot paper showed ‘TV’ as his symbol. After noticing the error, the candidate and his supporters protested and demanded re-polling after due correction in the ballot paper.

The Returning Officer rushed to the village and after ascertaining the error, informed the Deputy Commissioner and announced that the re-polling would be conducted on May 31.
