Relatives of three MLAs file nomination papers in Hassan

Three MLAs from Hassan district have fielded their family members in the zilla panchayat elections.

Minister for Sericulture and Animal Husbandry A. Manju, who is also in-charge of Hassan district, has fielded his son Manthar Gowda from Ramanathapur in Arkalgud taluk. Dr. Manthar Gowda is banking on his father’s popularity for victory in the election.

H.D. Revanna, Holenarsipur MLA, has fielded his wife Bhavani Revanna from Halekote in Holenarsipur taluk as Janata Dal (Secular) candidate. The party has a strong support base in the constituency. C.N. Balakrishna, Shravanabelagola MLA, has fielded his wife Kusuma Balakrishna from Bagur and his brother C.N. Puttaswamy Gowda from D. Kalenahalli. In Hassan too, H.S. Prakash, MLA, has fielded his son Swaroop from Kandali.

On Saturday, Hanume Gowda, younger brother of Patel Shivaram, former MLC, filed his papers as a Janata Dal (S) candidate at Shantigram.
