Was your application for passport rejected at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) because some of the necessary documents were not submitted? And did you have to endure another round of waiting for a fresh appointment at the PSK?
Now, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) has come up with a solution to address the difficulties passport aspirants face when their applications are rejected at the PSKs. Beginning September 10, all passport aspirants whose applications are rejected at the PSK due to lack of necessary documents, will be given an opportunity to resubmit their documents at the PSKs within three working days of their appointment, on a ‘walk-in basis’.
In a press statement here on Thursday, Regional Passport Officer K.J. Srinivasa said the passport applications of such aspirants will be accepted at a specific time slot, between 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m., if they resubmit their documents within three working days. “However, they have to get an endorsement from the respective heads of PSKS before leaving the seva kendra to avail of this facility,” he said.
Walk-in appointments
The RPO’s new measure is expected to benefit a large number of passport aspirants who have been turned away the first time.
The walk-in appointments will be made available at all the four PSKs — two in Bangalore (one each on Lalbagh Road and Marathahalli) and at Mangalore and Hubli from September 10.
The RPO has also decided to open the walk-in appointments to Central and State government servants, their spouses and dependent minor children, who have a NOC/identity certificate.

Applicants needing change in Emigration Check status (from Emigration Check Required to Emigration Check Not Required can also avail the walk-in facility. The facility will, however, be restricted to the time slot between 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
