Film actor Rakshita Prem did to Badavara Shramikara Raithara (BSR) Congress exactly what her esteemed colleague in the film industry Pooja Gandhi did to Janata Dal (Secular) and BSR Congress recently. Ms. Rakshita, who quit the BSR Congress on Friday, joined the Janata Dal (Secular) headed by H.D. Deve Gowda on Monday. She joined the party in the presence of Mr. Gowda.

Ms. Rakshita, president BSR Congress women’s wing, wanted to contest from Rajarajeshwarinagar constituency. But, the party asked her to contest from Chamarajanagar. Party workers in Chamarajanagar refused to accept her as their candidate and lodged a protest. Frustrated with the development, Ms. Rakshita quit the BSR Congress and joined the JD(S).

Speaking to media, Ms. Rakshita clarified that she deserted the BSR Congress as she was upset with the selection of candidates for some constituencies. She also clarified that her exit had nothing to do with the entry of actor Pooja Gandhi into the party.
