Former MP and All India president of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Raj Organisation Meenakshi Natarajan has said Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not have faith in 'power decentralisation' concept.

She was inaugurating district level convention of the organisation here recently.

The Modi-led government does not have faith either in secularism or in socialism, Ms. Meenakshi said.

Ms. Meenakshi, who is also a senior Congress leader, said the Congress party had increased women’s quota to 50 per cent from 33 per cent during its tenure. Sonia Gandhi had launched the organisation in order to realise Rajiv Gandhi’s dream of power decentralisation, she added.

She criticized centre’s land acquisition ordinance. The NDA government intends to grab the fertile lands from the farmers through this move, she said.

Former MP C. Narayanaswamy, MLA K.M. Narayanaswamy, MSIL president M.L. Anilkumar participated among others.
