Incessant rain for the second consecutive evening here has thinned the attendance at some Dasara celebration venues, particularly at the palace, where an open-air cultural event brings artistes of national and international repute together.

The weather has kept people indoors with rains lashing the city on Sunday and Monday evenings. However, some events such as the Dasara Ahara Mela at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Ground have been drawing the crowds despite the rain.

The cultural events at the palace are most sought after by connoisseurs of music and dance. The performances begin at 7 p.m. This time, the rain kept the people indoors though some ventured out with raincoats and umbrellas.

Sunday’s concert at the palace was moved under a shelter near the forecourt because of the rain.

Yuva Dasara is relatively held under a large pandal. This event often draws youth braving the rain to watch their music icons perform.
