Rain brings down temperatures

Following the recent spell of rain, Hyderabad Karnataka and Bombay Karnataka recorded maximum and minimum temperatures which were much below the normal temperatures recorded during the period in previous years.

As per the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department at 8.30 a.m. on Monday, the maximum and minimum temperatures throughout the State were below the ones recorded previously.

The maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius recorded at Ballari was 5 degrees Celsius lower than the one recorded on the same day last year.

Similarly, the maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius recorded at Raichur was 3 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature recorded on the same day in the previous year and the maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius recorded in Kalaburagi was 2 degrees Celsius lower than the temperature recorded last year.

Sources said that Bidar and Vijayapura recorded the maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius in the State. Both Hyderabad Karnataka and Bomaby Karnataka continued to record lower minimum temperatures.

While Ballari recorded a minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius, Raichur, Koppal and Gadag recorded 23 degrees Celsius each.

Vijayapura recorded a minimum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and Kalaburagi and Bidar recorded 25 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

Meanwhile the south Karnataka districts and parts of coastal Karnataka continued to receive good rain and Balehonnur in Chikkamagaluru recorded the State’s highest rainfall of 5 cm.
