Rain brings down temperature

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the Hyderabad Karnataka and Mumbai Karnataka region continued to be well below the normal temperatures recorded during the period in the previous years as per the observations recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday.

Sources in the IMD said that the maximum and minimum temperatures in both the regions were within tolerable limits mainly due to the heavy widespread rain in different parts of the regions over the past few days.

Although Kalaburagi recorded the State’s highest maximum temperature of 39.1 degrees Celsius, it was 2 degrees Celsius less than the normal temperature recorded on the same day in previous years.

Kalaburagi recorded the State’s highest minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and this was 1 degree Celsius less than the temperature recorded in previous years on the same day. However, the maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature of 26 degrees Celsius in Bidar was the same as in the previous year on the same day. However, the maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius recorded in Raichur was 4 degrees Celsius less than the temperatures recorded in the previous years on the same day.

Ballari recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius and this was 5 degrees Celsius less than the temperature recorded in the previous years.

Vijayapura recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius which was 4 degrees Celsius less than the temperature recorded in previous years on the same day. The minimum temperature of 21 degrees Celsius recorded in Vjayapura was also less by 4 degrees Celsius when compared to the temperatures recorded in previous years.

Sources said, rain continued to batter south Karnataka districts. T. Narsipur recorded the State’s highest rainfall of 5 cm., followed by Mysuru and Bengaluru recording 4 cm., Haillimysuru, Holenarsipur, Bengaluru airport 3 cm., Madapura, N.R. Pura, Ajjampura, Lakkavalli, Chikkmagaluru, Hassan, Arkalgud, Gundlupet, Channapatna 2 cm., and Belthangady, Shivamogga, Harangi, Kottigehara, Balehonnur, Shivan I., Yegati, Nanjangud, Bandipur, Begur, Pandavapur, Bhramsagar, Kanakapur and Ramanagaram 1 cm., each. Rain or thundershowers would occur in isolated places all over the State over the next 48 hours
