Railway Safety Commissioner to probe into train derailment

Following the derailment of the Mumbai-bound Puducherry-Dadar Chalukya Express (train no 11006) in Hubballi on Monday, in which eight passengers suffered injuries, Commissioner of Railway Safety will visit Hubballi next week for investigation.

According to a release issued by South Western Railway, Commissioner of Railway Safety, South Eastern Circle, Kolkata (Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India), S. Nayak, will hold a statutory inquiry on the accident on Monday and Tuesday.

Mr. Nayak will conduct the inquiry from 10 a.m. on Monday at the Divisional Railway Manager’s Conference Hall in Hubballi. The railway authorities have requested the general public having knowledge about the accident to give information to Senior Divisional Safety Officer, Hubballi Division, Hubballi, or on Ph: 0836-2289915.
