Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjun Kharge has said that Rahul Gandhi will soon become president of the Congress and the party will face all upcoming elections under his leadership.

He was talking to media persons in Yadgir after participating in a function to inaugurate a building for the office of the Superintendent of Police on Sunday.

Mr. Kharge said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was announcing new schemes for Gujarat with an eye on Assembly elections, though many traders opposed his GST. “It may so happen that Mr. Modi will reduce tax if a group from the RSS files a formal requisition,” he said.
