Rahul Gandhi to campaign in Tumkur

Vice-president of All India Congress Committee Rahul Gandhi will campaign in the district on Friday.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, district unit president of the Congress Shafi Ahmed said that Mr. Gandhi would address a gathering at the Mahatma Gandhi stadium. He said that more than 1 lakh people would participate in the programme.

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah, KPCC president G. Parameshwara and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M. Veerappa Moily will participate in the programme. All 11 Congress candidates in Tumkur will be present.

Meanwhile, several leaders, along with their supporters, of the Janata Dal(Secular), Bharatiya Janata Party and Karnataka Janata Paksha joined the Congress on Sunday.
