Minister for Municipal Administration and Waqf Qamarul Islam on Saturday rubbished reports appearing in a section of regional newspapers that he was being dropped from the Ministry for “non-performance” and said they were planted by vested interests.
In a brief chat with presspersons here on Saturday on the sidelines of a programme, Mr. Qamarul said he did not understand how his detractors had measured his performance and non-performance. He said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had appreciated his performance. “These rumours will not deter me from doing my work as the Minister and protecting the interests of minorities,” he said.
