Pulse polio drive from January 18

The pulse polio drive will be held in Dharwad and Belagavi districts for three days from January 18.

Dharwad Additional Deputy Commissioner B.C. Satish said in a release that the district administration had set the goal of administering polio vaccine to 2,44,249 children this time.

As many as 886 vaccination booths would be set up and 3,848 staff would be engaged. Hubli Electricity Supply Company officials had been told to ensure round-the-clock power supply, he added.

The Belagavi district administration has set a target of covering 6.33 lakh children on January 18. Immunisation will be done at various government hospitals, including PHCs and other centres.
