Demonstrations outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner in the city has been banned by the police.

A release issued by the Police Commissioner’s office said that the DC’s office was beset with demonstrations and strikes by various organisations and political parties, putting the public to inconvenience. Besides, such protests disturbed officials and staff at the DC’s office to conduct public work due to the use of loudspeakers and drums.

Those who wish to stage demonstrations should seek permission from the police and stage protests at least 100 meters away from the office, the release added. Earlier, protests in Mysuru would commence from K.R. Circle. As this was the heart of the commercial centre and protests were causing traffic snarls, the police banned agitations near K.R. Circle a few years ago.
