Protest by housemaids in Bidar

Members of the Karnataka Gruha Karimkara Union staged 'dharna' demanding basic facilities and social security benefits in Bidar on Wednesday.

They demanded formation of a welfare board for housemaids and other domestic workers, they said that the board should fix a wage rate that would be enforceable, it should issue them identity cards and pension benefits, and house sites for the landless workers.
