The United Christians Forum took out a silent procession here on Friday to protest against the attack on churches, Christians and women.
Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Ballari and president of the forum, led the procession, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner to be forwarded to the State and Union governments expressing concern over the rise in attack on churches, Christians and women.
He said that the attacks had created an atmosphere of fear among Christians and women and urged the government to initiate steps to prevent such attacks in future. The procession, which began from John Hands Church, passed through the main streets before reaching the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
