Probe sought into staff recruitment

January 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - DAVANGERE:

The alleged lapses in the recruitment of 217 contract employees to the Davangere Municipal Corporation dominated the general body meeting here on Friday.

Both ruling and Opposition councillors demanded that an investigation be conducted into the recruitment as there had been allegations about the authorities misusing their powers. There were also rumours that those recruited were working in other places and earning salary from the corporation.

CMC Commissioner Narayanappa said that an inquiry would be conducted and action would be initiated against those found guilty.
