Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha, who is also the executive officer of the Mysuru Palace Board, has ordered an inquiry into the reported incident of a couple taking photographs inside the palace.
The videos and photographs, which were taken inside the Durbar Hall, were shared on social media. Photography and videography is strictly prohibited inside the main building of the palace.
Sorry, no permission to shoot
“We have not given permission to shoot videos or photographs inside the palace. Chief Secretary of the State, who is also the Chairperson of the Mysuru Palace Board, is the competent authority to issue permission. Even if permission is given, it is restricted to outside the palace,” Ms. Shikha told The Hindu . Referring to the photographs of the couple, Ms. Shikha said it does not appear to have been taken in a hurried manner. “It has been done in a professional way.” The Board has also lodged a police complaint against the alleged trespassing. “We have also given a police complaint to City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda,” Ms. Shikha said.
Palace Board’s deputy director T.S. Subramanya, who was not available for comment, is reported to have informed the royal family representatives that the photographs were morphed.
Palace secretary Lakshminarayan said the royal family has strongly objected to the incident.
