G.T. Deve Gowda of the JD(S), MLA representing Chamundeshwari constituency, moved a breach of privilege motion against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, saying his rights have been curtailed by the CM’s son Yathindra laying the foundation stone for various development works in the constituency.

Mr. Yathindra, who is the chairman of the Varuna constituency Housing Schemes Awareness Committee, has been laying the foundation stone for development projects in Chamundeshwari constituency, sidelining the people’s representative, Mr. Gowda said.

He said the Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru has issued an order directing all the authorities to launch development works in the presence of the local MLA. The order has been respected least by the CM’s son, he said. Mr. Siddaramaiah or his son are expected to contest from Chamundeshwari constituency in this year’s Assembly elections.
