Pralhad Joshi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president, has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to intervene in the Cauvery issue and convince the Tamil Nadu government to withdraw its petition filed in the Supreme Court seeking compensation from Karnataka for the crop loss it has suffered.

“It is time that the Prime Minister intervened in the matter. At the same time, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should consult legal experts to ensure that the petition by Tamil Nadu is dismissed in court,” he told a press conference here on Thursday.
