Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G. Parameshwara on Sunday thanked people of the State for turning up in large numbers to vote.

He was also elated over the results of the exit polls conducted by news channels which predicted that the Congress would emerge as the single largest party. President of the State BJP unit Pralhad Joshi also expressed happiness over the increase in the voter turnout compared to 2008 and hoped that it would help the party. Admitting that people of the State were unhappy with the internal squabbling in the party, he said if voted to power, the party government would perform better.

Janata Dal (Secular) State president H.D. Kumaraswamy, who is camping in Ramanagaram, too said he was satisfied with the increased voter turnout. He said the party would secure more seats in north Karnataka. He, however, said he would react to the outcome of the exit polls only after the announcement of the official results on Wednesday.
