Amrut Serkani (50), an Assistant Sub-Inspector, on election duty, was killed when his van collided with a lorry near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night. The deceased is a resident of Channaveer Nagar in Kalaburagi.
The incident occurred when a police team was heading to Uttar Pradesh after completing election duty in Goa.
