‘Police Flag Day’ celebrated in Bidar

Police flag day was celebrated in Bidar on Thursday.

The annual event is being organised across the state to commemorate the passing of the Karnataka Police Act and to raise funds for the welfare of retired police officials.

A.D. Basannanavar, who retired as Deputy Superintendent of Police two days ago, was the Chief Guest at the function. He received the Guard of Honour from various police troupes.

Commander Shashidhar Hiremath led the Parade.

Mr. Basannanavar urged the State government to extend the benefit of ‘Arogya Bhagya’ health insurance and police canteen stores facilities to retired officers and personnel.

Sudheer Kumar Reddy, superintendent of police, Dharmendra Kumar Meena, assistant SP, G. Sangeetha additional SP, and others were present.

Nagendra Ballure, president of the retired police officers association said most retired officers and personnel had not attended the function as the association's demands were pending with the State government.
