PHCs handed over to private medical college

Under the revised Arogya Bandhu scheme, the Department of Health and Family Welfare has handed over the day-to-day operation of four primary health centres (PHCs) in the district to Belagavi-based KLE University’s J.N. Medical College.

Complete administrative control of centres at Kinaye and Vantamuri in Belagavi taluk and two others in Ashok Nagar and Rukmini Nagar in Belagavi city were handed over to the college for a period of two years.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the district health and family welfare officer and KLE university has come into effect from July 1. The MoU was signed between district health and family welfare officer A. M. Naratti, and N. S. Mahantashetti, Principal, of the college on Saturday.
