The State government on Tuesday told the Karnataka High Court that the process of framing guidelines with regard to employment in bars and restaurants is in the final stage while seeking a week’s time to notify them.

Following this, the High Court adjourned to July 9 further hearing of the petition filed by Bangalore Ladies Working Bar and Restaurant Owners’ Association.

The petitioner-association had challenged the action of the Bangalore city police in “illegally” closing down bars and restaurants with women servers merely on instruction from the Home Minister without notification.
