Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council D.V. Sadananda Gowda has said that the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the four northern States, especially Delhi, in the Assembly elections was a clear indication of the dislike of the people for the Congress and that they (electorate) would reject it again in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Reacting to the election results, the BJP leader said that Delhi was like a mini-India. Based on the results today, he would say that the voters would bring his party to power at the Centre by returning more than 272 seats in its favour in 2014. Interestingly, he said, even those who did not like the BJP had decided to reject the Congress. This, he added, was a good augury for the principal Opposition party in the Lok Sabha for the general elections.
Mr. Sadananda Gowda said that the credit for the resounding success of the BJP should equally go to the local leadership of the party in the respective States and the Prime Ministerial candidate for his leadership qualities. He said that while the party fared well in the semi-final (to 2014 general elections), it would win the finals in a big way.
