People from the district poured out their grievances at a public meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha instructed CEO of the Mysore ZP P.A. Gopal and District Health Officer Puttaswamy to visit Alanahali Gram Panchayat on Friday to look into a complaint about lack of doctors at the PHC. She also instructed the officials to depute a doctor from a taluk hospital to Alanahalli if there were no doctors. A few persons from N.R. Mohalla complained that structures were built illegally on a drain in the locality and as a result the drains were blocked. They appealed to Ms. Shikha to remove the illegal structures. She instructed the corporation officials to visit the spot and take action.

Anka Naik of Hullahalli in Nanjangud complained that there was no drinking water facility at the Navodaya school in DMG Halli and over 400 students studying in the school were put to hardship owing to absence of many facilities. The DC asked the DDPI and other officials to visit the school on Friday and verify whether the complaint was genuine. She asked the officials to submit a report to her immediately after visiting the school.

A few shopkeepers at Gopalaswamy Circle in Lakshmipura Layout said that footpath vendors had sprung up at the circle and all pavements were blocked owing to which their business had been hit. They appealed to the DC to evict the footpath vendors. Humayan Rusheed alleged that he had sought information from MUDA under the RTI Act but MUDA did not furnish details. He asked the DC to direct MUDA to furnish information or initiate disciplinary action against the officials.
