Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday told the Legislative Assembly that the deadline for submitting the report for the 6th Pay Commission of government employees had been extended till January 31, 2018.
The commission, headed by former bureaucrat M. R. Sreenivasamurthy, would also look into removing disparities between the salaries of State and Union government employees, the Chief Minister told BJP member Ihole D. Mahalingappa during Question Hour.
However, he refused to grant any interim relief for the State government employees as the Pay Commission was yet to submit its report.
Regarding salaries for police, he said while some measures had already been effected in this regard, a formal order on removing the system of orderlies would be issued soon.
Meanwhile, Municipal Administration Minister Ishwar Khandre told the Assembly that steps to fill up 1,129 posts in the Group-B and C cadre of Urban Local Bodies would be taken up in March 2018. Already a proposal in this regard had been made to the Karnataka Public Service Commission.
Similarly the services of 6,000 pourakarmikas would be regularised within January 2018, he noted.
