Home Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief G. Parameshwara on Sunday said that if the party high command did not wish him to continue as KPCC head, then he is ready to step down.
Speaking to reporters in Tumakuru city, Mr. Parameshwara said I have worked as KPCC chief since 2010, I was given the responsibility by AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and I have completed six-and-a-half years in the post. I had never dreamt of becoming KPCC chief. If the party high command does not me to continue as KPCC chief, I will abide by the party's decision, he said.
On Digvijaya Singh being replaced by K.C. Venugopal as State in-charge, he said Mr. Singh was holding the post for the past four years and gave advice and suggestion during the time of crisis.
He is an experienced politician and has guided us, he said. Now as the State is going for polls next year, the party high command has changed him in the interest of the party. I welcome senior congress leader Mr. Venugopal as the in-charge of the State, he added.
The party high command is making changes where ever the elections are due. He said he would give a list of those coming from Janata Dal (Secular) to Congress party after a few days.
