Panel to submit report in February

The committee to study the problems of sex workers, Devadasis and sexuality minorities in the State is likely to submit its detailed study report to the State government in February, 2017, Jaimala, MLA and chairperson of the committee, has said.

She was talking to presspersons after meeting officials of various government departments here on Tuesday. She said that the committee already visited eight districts so far and would also visit the rest of them soon..

Ms. Jaimala also said that after having interacted with the women who suffered atrocities, she would request the State government to introduce new schemes and programmes to bring them to the mainstream.

Roopa Hasan, Meenakshi Bali, Stanley and others were present.
