Panel to monitor construction work of Congress Bhavan

The State Congress constituted an 11-member Congress Bhavan Building Construction Committee headed by its President G. Parameshwara to supervise the construction of the party’s new building, under-construction behind the present party office on the Queens Road in the city.

Other members of the committee are Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Ministers D.K. Shivakumar, K.J. George, Ramalinga Reddy, Roshan Baig, H.C. Mahadevappa, M.B. Patil, Legislators H.M. Revanna, M. Krishnappa, and N.S. Boseraj, said a press statement issued by the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

The party has instructed all party MPs, Ministers, legislators, chairpersons of boards/corporations, district and block presidents to donate funds for building. The building is expected to cost Rs. 12 crore.

The committee has also been empowered to take decisions on construction of party buildings on party’s vacant sites at district and taluk headquarters, the note said.
