Shyamala Bhandary, member of the State Women’s Commission, visited the District Government Hospital, and enquired about the health of two physically weak women Narsi (55) and Muthu (57), here on Thursday.

The two women, who were reportedly living in isolation in their house in Pithrody village for a few years, were rescued by social worker Vishu Shetty on April 20. In a release, Ms. Bhandary said the commission had registered a complaint suo motu. She would give a comprehensive report after the visit.

The Department of Women and Child Welfare Gracy Gonsalves said they had taken immediate action and admitted them to the Special Treatment Unit at the District Government Hospital.
