The Autocross Bike Racing, a dirt track racing event in Kikkeri in K.R. Pet taluk of Mandya, received a good response on Sunday.
The Kikkeri Friends Club had organised the event. Former MLA K.B. Chandrashekar flagged off the event in which near 50 racers participated.
The popularity of motorsport is rising in the State as the safety standards have improved. The authorities concerned should encourage such sports, he said.
Professionals and amateurs riders from Kushalanagar, Gonikoppa, Virajpet, Chikkamagalur, Kadur, Chikkaballapur, Hunsur and others parts of the state participated.
“The dirt track racing is not new to K.R. Pet. We had organised the event at Kikkeri last year.
The motive behind organising the event was to encourage professional and amateur riders. And, also to check the driving skills of riders,” Kikkeri Friends Club said.
The event drew tremendous response from local people.
