Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Monday that his government was committed to the welfare of poor people from all castes and religions.

He was speaking after laying foundation stone for Ganganal Irrigation Scheme. “Some people comment I am chief minister of only Ahinda communities. Its not true. Schemes like Annabhagya, Ksheerbhagya, waiver of loans, farm loans up to Rs. 3 lakh without interest benefit people of all communities, not only Ahinda”, he said.

Referring to comments opposing socio-educational survey, going on now, Siddaramaiah said, “Some people say I am dividing society by conducting the survey. The purpose of the survey is to understand the socio-economic status of people. Only those opposed to social justice and in support of keeping caste system for generations to come are opposing the survey”, he said.
