‘Only transport of milk, vegetables will be allowed’

Barring milk and vegetables, transportation of all goods, including essential commodities such as petroleum products and foodgrains, is expected to be affected from Saturday midnight, as goods transporters have joined the ongoing sand truckers’ strike.

Goods carriers, tourist cabs and cabs deployed with IT/ ITeS/ BT companies too have joined the strike. “We will allow transportation of milk and vegetables. Transport vehicles from neighbouring States will also not enter Karnataka,” general secretary of the South India Motor Transporters’ Association G.R. Shanmugappa, said.
