One more succumbs to injuries in tanker explosion

Two persons are in critical condition

One more person, injured due to the explosion of a bullet tanker at Bargi village near Kumta in Uttara Kannada district on Tuesday, has died at the Kasturba Hospital here on Wednesday. With this, the death toll in the Bargi tanker explosion has gone up to two.

As many as 14 persons, who were injured in the tanker explosion, were admitted to the Kasturba Hospital. Of the 14 injured, one 84-year-old woman, Nagaveni, died on the same day. Bharat (22) succumbed to his injuries here at the hospital at around 8 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the police.

According to hospital sources, of the 12 other injured patients at the hospital, seven are in a critical condition. Two of them are very critical. The remaining five patients, including the driver of the tanker, are stable. The driver, who suffered a fracture on the right leg, underwent surgery on Tuesday.
