A Bangalore-based businessman B.N Sudarshan is among the 62 persons killed during the siege of a mall in Kenyan capital Nairobi, which began on Saturday.

Mr. Sudarshan's family friend Mr. Nagaraj confirmed to The Hindu on Tuesday that the Indian Embassy in Kenya called up his brother Mr. Ramprasad late on Monday to convey the death of Mr. Sudarshan in the terror strike.

The Ministry of External Affairs is believed to have assured the family that the body will be sent to India soon. 50-year-old Mr. Sudarshan is unmarried and had been to Nairobi on a business trip, his family members said.

Mr. Sudarshan, who runs Om Sree Engineering and Constructions, which is engaged in manufacturing of concrete mixers and construction equipments, had left Bangalore for Kenya on Friday via Dubai on a business trip. After reaching Nairobi late Friday, he checked into a hotel and went on a business meeting on Saturday. After the meeting concluded, Mr. Sudarshan visited the mall, where he is believed to have been shot.

Mr. Sudarshan's death takes the total number of Indians killed in the Westgate mall terror attack in Nairobi to three out of the total 62.

The two other Indians killed include an 8 year old boy Paramshu Jain, son of a manager of Bank of Baroda branch in Kenya, and 40-year-old Sridhar Natarajan, an employee of a pharmaceutical firm.
