One person was killed and two were injured in a head-on collision between a Mahindra-Bolero jeep and a truck near R.V. Composite PU College under Raibag Police Station limits in Raibag town on Tuesday.
Halappa Pujer (55), a resident of Uberatti village of Raibag taluk, who was driving the jeep and grievously injured, succumbed on the way to hospital. Two other persons, who were in the jeep and who suffered grievous injuries, have been referred to a private hospital in Belagavi city.
Police said the driver of the truck is absconding. Efforts are on to trace him.
