An old school building in Khadak Galli collapsed on Wednesday morning. Nearly half-a-portion of the first floor of the building housing the Government Pre-Primary Marathi Medium School caved in. But, there was none inside the building at that time. The Education Department had already shifted the school to a nearby building.

Basavaraj M. Nalatwad, the new Block Education Officer who took charge on Wednesday, said the department had rented the building to run the school decades ago. After the building weakened, the school was shifted to another building.

The other buildings next to the old building were safe. An inquiry is now being conducted
