Officials visit solid waste management plant in Tumakuru

Principal District and Sessions Judge, N.K. Sudhindra Rao, Deputy Commissioner, Sathya Murthy, Superintendent of Police, Raman Gupta, Commissioner of Tumakuru City Municipal Corporation, Asad Sharif and other officers concerned visited Ajjagondanahalli in Tumakuru taluk where the soild waste management plant is being established on Wednesday.

They reviewed the construction work of the solid waste plant.

They visited Kattigenahalli where the clash between police and agitators, agitating against the solid waste plant, took place in the month of December in 2014.

Mr. Sudhindra Rao handed over a cheque of Rs. 3 lakh to the family of Shivakumar, a Tumkur University employee on daily wages who was physically disabled had allegedly committed suicide on 20th December, 2014. The cheque was given by the CMC, which had collected the amount from the councillors of the CMC to give Shivakumar's family.
