A team from the National Security Guard (NSG) hub in Hyderabad visited Mysore palace on Wednesday.

Led by Major Sumit Negi, the three-member team, accompanied by members of the Centre for Counter-terrorism, a wing of the State's internal security division, went around the palace to check its layout and the security apparatus put in place by the local police to protect the monument from terror threats.

Inspector Vivekananda from the Centre for Counter-terrorism, Bangalore, was present. Eight members from the centre, including some commandos, were present.

Security at the palace was strengthened a few years ago, keeping in mind the general threat perception.
