Three students from National Public Schools in the city have made the State proud by securing top ranks in the Joint Entrance Exam (Main) and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Entrance Exam.
Vadiraja K., a student of National Public School, Rajajinagar, has secured the State first rank in the JEE (Main), which guarantees him a seat in a National Institutes of Technology.
Preferring to stay closer to home, Vadiraja hopes to study computer science engineering at the National Institute of Technology-Surathkal.
“I was sure of securing a top rank, but coming first in the State is surely a surprise,” said Vadiraja, who secured rank 53 in the Common Entrance Test (CET). “I now have time till my classes begin to relax,” said a relieved Vadiraja.
The fate of JEE (Main) State second rank holder, Shankar Narayanan, also a student of National Public School, Rajajinagar, was sealed much before the JEE (Main) results were announced. “I have secured a seat at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras in the aerospace engineering stream,” he said.
While he expected to come within the first 15 ranks in the JEE (Main), he did not expect to come second, he said.
AIIMS topper
Hemanth Amardeep Santhoor, who stood first in the CET medical stream, is now on his way to AIIMS, after securing the 12 rank in the entrance exam. He stood second in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (Pondicherry) Medical Entrance Test and in COMEDK Medical Entrance. He wishes to specialise in neurosurgery.
